Huddersfield Giants in the Community’s Secondary School, Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) Development Programmes signifies the clubs long term commitment to working alongside local secondary schools, the Kirklees Schools Rugby League Association (KSRLA), local colleges & the University of Huddersfield in both developing rugby league players of the future & providing sustainable participation pathways to link in with local community rugby league clubs.
Every Secondary School within Huddersfield has the opportunity of six weeks of coaching with male and female participants. Coaching content within Secondary Schools will include the rules and the defensive/offensive strategies of the game alongside the development of the fundamental core skills of Rugby League including – Catch, Grip, Carry, Pass, Try Scoring, Play the Ball & Tackling.
