A reminder to all Huddersfield Giants supporters that the Giants will use the Battle for West Yorkshire game against fierce rivals Bradford Bulls on 3rdMarch to celebrate everyone’s favourite Rugby Memories.
The game is set to be a cracker with both teams flying high in the Super League. Not only that, there is the added spice of a number of current Giants staff having a strong past connection with the Bulls. Head Coach Paul Anderson and experienced prop Stuart Fielden both played together at the Bulls, while Joe Wardle, Brett Ferres and Craig Kopczak all started of their careers' at Odsal.
The game is building to be a true crunch derby tie and there is now another great chance to submit your memories to us.
The Huddersfield Giants are urging all supporters to continue sending in their favourite Claret and Gold Rugby Memories or post them on our Facebook page as the Giants will use the next home Super League game against the Bradford Bulls on 3rd March to celebrate everyone’s favourite Rugby Memories.
Rugby League legend Robbie Hunter-Paul started the trend by revealing his favourite Claret and Gold memory earlier this week and since then the club has already received a number of other memories from various supporters.
One of those Sporting Memories was sent in by Giants supporter Mick Ryan who said his favourite memory was:
“Paul Reilly running with the ball straight at Stuart Fielden and flattening him. It must have been about 8years ago on a wet day, but what a great game it was!”
The Giants want you, the supporters, to carry on forwarding in your favourite Claret and Gold memories either on the club’s Facebook page that can be accessed by clicking here or by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We need your pictures and accounts outlining that special memory that you will never forget.
The best pictures and memories will be selected by the club and used around the John Smith’s Stadium in the future!
The Giants will continue to ask supporters to submit their favourite memories of their team in the run-up to and on the day of the West Yorkshire Derby game.
On the day of the game against the Bulls, the Club is also asking fans to wear their favourite Giants shirt to the game from through the years to add to the special ‘memories’ environment.
There will also be a ‘memory board’ hosted in the Giants Community Zone, which will be located at the front of the John Smith’s Stadium where supporters can pin their favourite pictures and memories to.
