OPPOSITION PROFILE: ST HELENS
All the info you need to know about the League Leaders ahead of our clash on Friday Night
By Jack Robinson
Friday evening sees us travel to the North West, to face League Leaders Shield winners, St Helens. A win will all but seal our fate in the Betfred Super League next season. However, the hosts have a 100% record at home this season, and a win on Friday night will see them win all their home games in a season for the first time since 2002.
Saints have won their last four games in the league, with their last defeat in the league being a 32-12 defeat against the London Broncos, albeit it with a heavily rotated side. They beat the Castleford Tigers 4-0, in a tight contest at the Totally Wicked Stadium, last Friday night.
However, they suffered a defeat at Wembley in the Challenge Cup final to Warrington, losing 18-4 to the Wolves in the capital. That means little for the league though, as the Saints sit 16 points clear at the top of table, Wigan Warriors the club closest to them on 32 points.

The two sides have already met three times so far this season, twice in the league and once in the cup. The first meeting in mid-March finished 40-12 to the Saints. The second was two months later in the Coral Challenge Cup, Saints winning at the John Smith’s Stadium for the second time in 2019, 22-16. The two sides then also met a month later, in mid-June, Saints winning 38-2 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
