Woolford's Words: We need to build on Round 1

Simon Woolford gives his thoughts ahead of the Giants clash with Leeds Rhinos, this Sunday

Welcome to a new season of Super League. I'm excited to get back to the John Smith's Stadium in front of our home supporters and open our account at home. 

It was great to get the win last week in a tough place to travel. I thought our standards and preparation through January was A class and it has been great to see it transform into the friendly and of course the Round 1 Performance. It was great we were able to come back from the South of France with two points and an excellent performance. 

Onto today's game, after last week's win we're looking to build the momentum and put a show on in front of our hometown crowd. Facing off against Leeds Rhinos will be a challenge, and they will be looking to bounce back from an opening day defeat after having strengthened in the off-season. 

Our challenge is obvious, we need to build on and improve on our performance from last week and keep up the momentum that we've had from January onward. Maintaining those standards and that consistency is key and keeping up the performance level and our preparation will give us the best possible chance of doing that. 

Finally, I would just like to thank you for supporting us, and backing the team coming into 2020.
