Watson continues to shape New Era Giants Squad

Jordan Turner has signed a 1 year deal with our West Yorkshire rivals Castleford Tigers. Oldham born Turner has had an exemplary professional career establishing himself as a Super League player in the Salford team before moving to Hull FC. Jordan joined St Helens in 2013 and found success as a Grand finalist against Wigan in 2014.

After a year in the NRL with Canberra Raiders, Jordan joined the Claret and Gold in May 2017 making an instant impact and scoring against Warrington in a Giants 44-4 home win. In a career to date that has seen him make nearly 300 top flight appearances, and scoring ten tries in his time at the Giants.

Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis said “This is a similar move by ourselves to the one that released Suaia earlier in the week and the rationale is exactly the same. We wish Jordan every success and will continue as part of our agreement around the release to support his testimonial year in 2021 . Jordan has played for a number of clubs in the UK and thoroughly deserves his years testimonial which we sincerely hope is supported by everyone in the Rugby League community.”

Jordan Turner said “I’ve met a lot of good people at Huddersfield and I wish them all the best, I’ve got some mates there that I have a really close bond with. I enjoyed my time with them but it was probably time for me and the club to go different ways and everyone got what they wanted in the end, we leave on really good terms and I wish Huddersfield all the best.”
