Giants run riot against Bulls

Huddersfield Giants Academy 58-12 Bradford Bulls Academy

Huddersfield Giants Academy ran riot at Lockwood Park as they beat Bradford Bulls 58-12, the Giants first win of the Academy season.

Huddersfield took the lead early on, with a fluid move on the left hand side of the pitch, converted by Will Pryce. The Bulls levelled the scores a few minutes later in an even first quarter of the game. Robson Stevens restored the Giants lead and wouldn’t let go of that lead for the rest of the match, with two further tries on the potent left flank, combined with Will Pryce’s accurate kicking from the boot, giving the Giants a 22-6 lead after 20 minutes played.

Pryce would cross over himself in the 30th minute, but the Bulls would reduce the arrears just before half time and the sides went into the sheds split 28-12.

The two sides were well matched throughout the opening quarter of the second half, but the first try in the second half would go to Aidan McGowan, who ran the length of the pitch and the Giants would remain in control for the rest of the game.

In the final quarter, the Giants would score four tries without reply, with Pryce, the Man of the Match, scoring the pick of the bunch with a fabulous effort finished in the right hand corner. The Giants would win 58-12 and record their first Academy win of the season.
