Leroy Cudjoe's Testimonial Match v Dewsbury Rams this Sunday 14th January, kick off 3pm

Foster Care

Club Captain Leroy Cudjoe caught up with about his upcoming testimonial match and plans for the year.

With over 265 appearances in Claret and Gold to his name, Cudjoe reflected on some of his highlights with the Giants:

“The highlight for me is definitely winning the League Leaders Shield in 2013, it was a big achievement for us as a Club and something I’m proud of been a part of. Playing in the Challenge Cup Final was also a great experience, we would have liked to have won but it wasn’t to be.

“My favourite game would be against St Helens in the 2009 semi-final of the Challenge Cup, that was one of the most complete performances we had as group, everything we did came off and it put us in to the final. But my favourite moment has to be the winning try against Warrington, the atmosphere and buzz I had during and after that was amazing and something I will never forget.”

The Giants will wear black armbands for Leroy Cudjoe’s Testimonial Match against Dewsbury Rams on Sunday 14th January, kick-off 3pm, after the death of Club Legend Pat Devery.

Devery, like Cudjoe, played at centre for the Club making 223 appearances and Cudjoe felt it important the team show their respect:

“It’s important for the Club to pay tribute to one of the legends that once played for this Club in Pat Devery. He was part of a very successful team that won major trophies and is very much a part of this Club with the history he created so it’s the least we can do.”

Cudjoe also has plans for more events in his Testimonial Year following the Dewsbury match and you can keep up to date with it by following - Leroy Cudjoe’s Testimonial year (Facebook) or Leroy Cudjoe (twitter) for all Events information:

“There are a few things lined up which at the moment will include an open dinner and a ladies night. Both should be great events and I will advertise when confirmed. At the moment I’m just looking forward to the game.

“The testimonial Shirt is a pre-order only, for fans that are still interested in purchasing a shirt you can order through the Club Shop, I will be putting another order in the next few weeks. The cut off to have got yours is the 15th January and shirts take about 5 weeks to be delivered.

“You can order your match day tickets online for the 14th January on the Giants website.  Directors seats are available as are car park passes and bar passes so do contact the club if any of these interest you.

“Thanks for your support and hope to see you all on the 14th.”
