Giants Announce departing players

Huddersfield Giants can announce the players that will be leaving the club upon the end of the 2026 season.

With the final game of the season upon us, we can now reveal which players have not been offered a contract and will be leaving the club, the players will stick around after the final whistle on Saturday to sign autographs and meet the fans within both stands.

Please give the players a great send off, with every one of them putting their bodies on the line for the Claret and Gold, Once a Giant, always a Giant.

Adam Clune

Cluney is a much loved member of the leadership group and the squad, being our captain for the 2026 season, but has unfortunately not had the impact he would have desired after suffering an injury which saw him miss the majority of the season, he leaves with our best wishes.

Tui Lolohea

One of our ever presents this season, Tui has been a mainstay in the Giants team since his signature in 2022, and has since built up over 100 appearances and 29 tries for the Giants. A consistent performer for the club, he has always bought into what it means to be a Giant, we wish Tui the very best in his future career.

Taane Milne

Somewhat of a fans favourite for his aggressive running style and countless offloads which has saw him top the charts for that particular skill in Super League two seasons in a row, Taane will depart the Giants having absolutely left his mark on the competition.

Jacob Gagai

As already announced by Warrington, Jacob Gagai will leave the club to sign for the Wolves, the club had offered Jacob a significant and improved contract to stay, but Jacob had decided to leave and we wish Jacob the very best at Warrington, he has consistently given 100% every time he pulled on the shirt. One of our best performers this season scoring 13 tries and regularly clocking up 100+ metres, let's give Gags a good send off!

Matty English

Our longest serving player with 157 appearances since 2017, Matty has consistently given everything to the club that gave him the chance to become professional. Loved by the fans, he has regularly turned up to rugby commitments and been a shining light in the good and the bad times. Matty has signed for York Knights, and we wish him the very best in his career, and will always be a Giant after his huge contribution to the club over the years. He also has been a huge campaigner for keeping the memory of Ronan Costello alive at the club, and he will always continue to do so.

Kieran Rush

Another one of our academy breakthrough players who has made 37 appearances to date, similar to Matty English, Kieran has always put his hand up to play in whatever position is needed and has given his all, comfortable at half or hooker, Kieran has been a loyal member of the Giants squad, we wish the very best of luck to Kieran.

Monty Lumb

A dynamic hooker who came through our Academy and made his debut in the cup game vs KR, Monty has featured for Dewsbury this season, Monty has played for the Reserves this season also, and we wish the very best of luck to Monty for his future career.

Tom Hardy and Zach Brown

Tom came through the Giants system and has regularly played in the Reserves, but will leave the club alongside Zach Brown who also came through the system, both have given countless hours and playing time to the club, we wish them both the very best.

We are currently in discussions with Mathieu Cozza and Tanguy Zenon regarding their futures at the club.

All the players on the list have contributed over and above at times for the Huddersfield Giants. Their contributions on and off the field have got us to a transitional period for the club, we are grateful for their professionalism and dedication. 

Now as is the nature of RL some players will be leaving and that periodically is part of the sport we play in, we wish every player the very best for their futures wherever they go and whatever they do.
