Catalans 22-22 Huddersfield – 2015 Magic Weekend

2015 saw an exhilarating, end-to-end tie between the Giants and the men from the South of France at Newcastle, settled by a late bit of drama, right on the hooter.

Two tries from Jodie Broughton, with two Danny Brough penalties in between, gave the Giants an 16-point lead at the break.

But Catalans surged back to score 22 unanswered points on the Giants defence, it was left to a last-gasp Jermaine McGillvary try, followed by a Danny Brough conversion from the touchline to get a point from the game. 

Huddersfield 42-6 Bradford – 2013 Magic Weekend

Seven tries from the Claret and Gold saw the Giants crush their West Yorkshire rivals Bradford at the 2013 edition of the annual festival of Rugby League, played in Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

Dale Ferguson stole the headlines with his two tries, alongside tries from Scott Grix, Larne Patrick, Shaun Lunt, Anthony Mullaly and Brett Ferres and a perfect performance from the boot from Danny Brough secured the victory to keep the Giants at pace with then leaders Wigan at the summit of the Super League table.

Huddersfield 54-16 Bradford – 2014 Magic Weekend

Nine tries from nine different try scorers made it back to back victories for the Giants against the Bulls at Magic Weekend, once again held in Manchester and once again featuring a stellar performance from the Claret and Gold.

The Giants had pace and power across the pitch and were too much for their West Yorkshire rivals once again, having already put 66 past the Bulls early on in the season.

Joe Wardle, Shaun Lunt, Luke Robinson, Jodie Broughton, Danny Brough, Scott Grix, Ukuma Ta’ai, Anthony Mullaly and Larne Patrick crossed over for the Giants in the comprehensive win.
