4 OF THE BEST: RAINY DAYS

Four of the best games played in 'testing' conditions

It's the British Summer Time, a time of BBQs in the pouring rain, seaside trips in the pouring rain and of course Summer Rugby in the pouring rain. With tonight's game set to be played in... less than sunny weather, we looked at a few of our best games in the wet;

Huddersfield Giants 12-12 Whitehaven, 2002

The only blemish on the Giants perfect 2002 Northern Ford Premiership record came away in Cumbria, after the Giants went 12 points up before half-time, thanks to tries from Paul March & Hefin O'Hare. Two quick tries for Haven by David Seeds and Aaron Lester levelled the scores and ensured that the Giants title-winning record read 26 wins, 0 losses... and one draw.

Huddersfield Giants 68-6 Hunslet, 2002

A hat-trick for Hefin O'Hare completed the home win over Hunslet in February 2002, in a side featuring Eorl Crabtree at centre, Stanley Gene at Stand-Off and Darren "Rocky" Turner, who picked up two tries in the rout of the Parksiders.

Huddersfield Giants 20-6 Warrington Wolves, 2018

A wet and windy classic in the rain in 2018 saw the Giants get the win over Warrington thanks to tries from Dale Ferguson, Darnell McIntosh and Jordan Turner.

Huddersfield Giants 52-6 Bradford, 2010

The day a legend was born, as Jermaine McGillvary touched down twice on his debut in the wet against Bradford Bulls. The Claret and Gold completed a rout at Odsal that day, thanks to tries from D. Hodgson (2), McGillvary (2), Cudjoe, Gilmour, Griffin, B. Hodgson and Robinson. As for McGillvary, turns out the two he scored wouldn't be the only ones he would score in his career.
