GIANTS ADD HEAD OF MEDICAL

Huddersfield Giants can announce that Steven Blakeley has been appointed as Head of Medical.

Huddersfield Giants have moved to bolster their backroom staff with the acquisition of former Wigan and current England Knights physiotherapist, Steven Blakeley. After an extensive search, Blakeley’s considerable experience on field as a player primarily for Salford and behind the scenes as a physiotherapist with Wigan, Manchester City and England Knights, made him the stand out applicant for the role of Head of Medical.

Head of Performance, Ollie Richardson said, ‘Steven was the standout candidate throughout our recruitment process, his experience in rugby league and knowledge about how to get players back and keep them back on the field in the unforgiving Super League will be invaluable for us moving forward. We are very much looking forward to him joining us and getting to work blending his systems and ideas with those already in place, to ultimately help give the players the best support possible.’

Blakeley will join the Giants after this week’s game versus Catalan and said “I'm glad to join such a reputable and exciting side as the Giants. I look forward to working with the staff, players and backroom staff and look forward to a successful period at the club.”
