Robertson confirmed as Head of Medical

Patrick Robertson has joined as our new Head of Medical from Wasps Rugby Union

Huddersfield Giants can confirm that Patrick Robertson has joined as our new Head of Medical, joining from Wasps Rugby Union. Robertson has experience with Warrington Wolves, Wasps, Welsh Rugby Union, and Cardiff Blues.

Robertson said: "My role involves overseeing the medical care of the senior squad, reserves, academy and scholarship. So that all squads have appropriate medical equipment, protocols and qualified staff in place to ensure a high level of care. In a collision sport like Rugby League injuries are part and parcel, but we aim to limit their impact.

"This is a really exciting time to be arriving at Giants with many positive changes taking place. A week in and I’m very much just settling into the role, but it evident there’s a real buzz around the place after a great pre-season."

Richard Thewlis, Managing Director said: “The addition of Patrick to the team has been planned for a while and its good he can now start to work with the squad as we approach the opening game of BetFred Super League. 

"We said over the last few months that we are changing and evolving the staff and support mechanisms behind the scenes and this is another key appointment or announcement on the back of Steve Fox last week.”
