The Lowdown: The Road to Wembley begins

All the information you need ahead of our Challenge Cup tie with Toronto Wolfpack

TL;DR

Huddersfield Giants will look to secure their first home win of 2020 as they face off against the Toronto Wolfpack. The Giants are boosted by their win last week at the home of the 2019 Champions, while Toronto are looking to pick up their first win of the year.

The Teams

Huddersfield Giants: Jermaine McGillvary, Jake Wardle, Jordan Turner, Darnell McIntosh, Aidan Sezer, James Gavet, Adam O’Brien, Suaia Matagi, Kenny Edwards, Michael Lawrence, Oliver Wilson, Aaron Murphy, Paul Clough, Tom Holmes, Oliver Russell, Louis Senior, Innes Senior, Sam Hewitt, Sam Wood, Adam Walne, Jon-Luke Kirby.

Toronto Wolfpack: Gareth O’Brien, Matty Russell, Ricky Leutele, Liam Kay, Joe Mellor, Josh McCrone, Adam Sidlow, Andy Ackers, Anthony Mullally, Andrew Dixon, Bodene Thompson, Jon Wilkin, Darcy Lussick, Gadwin Springer, Tom Olbison, Blake Wallace, Sonny Bill Williams, Hakim Miloudi, Tony Gigot.

What they said

Simon Woolford confirmed that Lee Gaskell and Ukuma Ta'ai will face an extended spell on the sidelines, while Joe Wardle will not face a lengthy sideline spell.

Tom Holmes said the squad was ready for the challenge and was happy to get out for his first appearance of the 2020 Season in the game against St Helens.

The Opposition

Toronto have struggled in their opening games this season, with two particularly big blowouts coming in last week's game against Leeds Rhinos, and the duck-egg they suffered against St Helens. They're coached by Brian McDermott however, and with squad adjustment starting to take shape and their available player starting to expand, they're sure to gather momentum towards their return to Canada.

The Star is undoubtedly Sonny-Bill Williams, but Sean Evans and Eorl Crabtree selected Ricky Leutele as their one to watch in this week's Pre-Match Show. Check it out on GiantsTV

Tickets have been dramatically reduced for tonight's game, and are priced at £10 for Adults and FREE for Under 17s. They're also available on the gate with no matchday increase.
