Giants on Standby

In response to the impact of Covid 19 and the recent restructure of the Betfred Super League play off's, the Giants regular season will now end after the Wigan Warriors clash at the Emerald Headingley stadium on Friday 6th November. Also, following the news that Salford have been deducted 6 points, this means that the Giants will finish seventh in the league table and will now be on standby to step in to the play offs should any of the qualifying clubs be unable to complete their fixtures due to the pandemic.

Head of Rugby Andy Kelly said "Obviously at this stage of the season we would usually be getting ready to finish after what could be our last game of the season on Friday. However, we will now be on standby, which will mean testing the players, and training as normal until we get the results of the next round of testing for the 4 teams involved in the play off games, if they are clear to play only then will we be stood down. We are and we will be ready to play"
