The Lowdown: Catalans Dragons (H)

The Brief
Huddersfield Giants are seeking to keep up their 100% home record in the Betfred Super League as they face Catalans Dragons at the John Smith's Stadium, Friday 1st April at 7:45pm. Huddersfield are looking to leapfrog les Dracs into 2nd in the Super League table with a win and after defeating the 2021 League Leaders in the South of France last year, confidence will be high for Ian Watson's men to get the win.

The Opposition
Catalans Dragons went one step further than they've ever done in 2021, playing at Old Trafford in a Grand Final they might easily have won. The side from Catalonia have strengthened typically in the off-season, bringing in Mitchell Pierce to replace the departing James Maloney, an NRL Grand Final winner who brings plenty of quality and experience to the Dragons attack.
Elsewhere, reigning Man of Steel Sam Tomkins provides leadership from the full-back role, having himself won three Super League titles and two Challenge Cup Finals in a glittering fourteen year career. Catalans are not to be underestimated, not that anyone would.
