Match Report | Leigh Leopards (H)

Huddersfield Giants lost out 4-30 to Leigh Leopards at the John Smith's Stadium.
Ian Watson selected Kieran Rush to make his completive debut, with Jake Bibby also returning on the wing, for Will Pryce and Innes Senior.
Matty English also made his 100th appearance in the Claret and Gold from the interchange bench.
After a few early Leopards errors that gave the Giants field position, Sam Hewitt couldn’t capitalise on the chance, as he knocked on looking to score.
Leigh then took the advantage and scored first, as Edwin Ipape broke through, he sent Ben Reynolds through a gap to open the scoring.
Ian Watson’s men had plenty of chances to draw level, after Leigh struggled to hold the ball and successive knock-ons gave the Giants field advantage.
Jake Connor shifted the ball out wide to Jake Bibby, who scored in the corner, but play was brought back for obstruction.
Adrian Lam’s men would then double their lead, as their leading ty scorer Josh Charnley touched down in acrobatic fashion in the corner, after quick hands from former Giant Ricky Leutele.
The scores would stay 0-12 to the visitors going into the break, with the Giants needing a big second half.
However, it would only get worse for the Giants, as Josh Charnley crossed in the corner for his second try of the evening, with Lachlan Lam then scoring soon after, as Leigh took full control of proceedings.
Tui Lolohea, would then lose control of the ball 10m out from his own line, Joe Mellor the grateful recipient of the ball to stroll over and extend the Leopards lead.
Kevin Naiqama, after some smart play from Jake Connor crossed in the corner with minutes remaining, but it was only to be a consolation as Leigh ran out 4-30 winners.
