Match Report | Leeds Rhinos (A)

Leeds Rhinos defeated Huddersfield Giants 54-0 at Headingley Stadium.
Ian Watson welcomed back popular winger Jermaine McGillvary and forward Joe Greenwood for this crucial clash at Headingly.
The Giants got off to the worst possible start, as Sam Walters took advantage of a short ball from Blake Austin to race over the line.
What looked like a forward pass was allowed to continue, as Ritchie Myler took the offload to score Leeds’ second in quick succession.
The Giants would have field possession of their own, through a penalty that was given away for offside from Cameron Smith, but it wouldn’t be turned into points.
Oliver Russell spread the ball out wide to Leroy Cudjoe who kicked in-behind, but the ball rolled dead with Innes Senior chasing.
Rohan Smith’s side would then never look back in a torrid first half for Ian Watson’s men, as from the resulting set, Ash Handley struck in the corner to top off a new deal for the Yorkshire club.
David Fusitu’a, would then score in the corner to put Leeds 22-0 to the good, as the half time hooter neared.
With seconds remaining, we were awarded a penalty, but couldn’t capitalise as Theo Fages’ kick to the corner was batted dead by Ash Handley.
The second half started the way the first did, with a fast break from Jarrod O’Connor who slipped in James McDonnell to cross for another try.
Sam Walters would then cross for another try, smashing his way over the whitewash, with another try coming soon after.
Ritchie Myler supported another break down the centre of the field, and would then kick long downfield and there winning the race was Rhys Martin, who scored.
He would then score the games' last try, as Ash Handley flicked the ball back, he was there to scoop it up and touch down.
