GIANTS RESULTS ROUND-UP

After a weekend packed with action, we'll round-up the results from the games involving the Giants.

First Team

First up it was the turn of Ian Watson's Giants, as we defeated Castleford 28-0 to make it four wins in a row in the Betfred Super League.

Sam Halsall opening the scoring, with Leroy Cudjoe and then Chris McQueen making it 14-0 at the break. These would be added to by a second-half double from Halsall, securing his first ever professional hat-trick, with on-loan Castleford man Adam Milner rounding off the scoring.

Next up, we travel to the home of the Super League and World Champions St Helens on Sunday for our rearranged Round 1 clash, looking to extend our winning run to five.

Women's

A spectacular result for our Women's team, as they defeated Betfred Women's Challenge Cup Finalists Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Stadium 16-20.

Winger Amelia Brown with a superb hat-trick, coupled in with a try from Emma Wilkinson saw the Giants Women victorious.

Amelia has been a stand-out player for the Women's team in 2023, scoring a number of tries and adding another three to her tally on Sunday afternoon, Highlights will be uploaded to our official Youtube account shortly, with the full-game on GiantsTV.

Reserves

Tom Tsang's Reserves travelled to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle on Saturday morning, looking to follow up the 28-0 win from the First Team.

They got off to a flying start, through tries from Ben Dean, Jonah Parsons and Brad Ward, followed by a penalty goal from Matty Hanley.

Jonah Parsons grabbed a second try before the break, with the reserves leading 22-12.

After the interval, Jonah Parsons completed his hat-trick, supporting a Kieran Rush break to race over and score, however this would be the last try, as Castleford took control of the game from now on.

Tries from Mustapha, Qareqare and Dawson saw the Tigers complete the comeback and secure the win, 36-28.
