Huddersfield Giants were defeated 18-26 by Hull KR on Friday evening.

The Giants started the game like a house on fire, with some strong carries and forcing errors, and this paved the way for the first try.

Will Pryce, straight from a scrum that was forced from an error, spotted Shaun Kenny-Dowall out of position and raced home to open the scoring.

Hull KR, after numerous penalties would hit back however, as the Robins man atoned for his error, as Nathan Peats and Kevin Naiqama both slid off the centre who crossed with ease.

Brad Schneider then added a penalty goal, with another Robins try coming soon after, as the Giants’ ill-discipline cost them dear.

Matt Parcell took advantage of an offload to race downfield, and on the resulting play, some more soft defence allowed Jordan Abdul to score on his return.

On the hooter, Jake Connor and former Giant Louis Senior were both sin-binned as the scores stood at 6-14.

Ian Watson’s men started the second half brightly, as Tui Lolohea kicked in-behind and forced a goal line drop out, but on the resulting play, a crash ball which looked to have set Harvey Livett over the line didn’t come off, as he spilled the ball.

Kane Linnett would then extend the Robins’ lead to 6-22, as he smashed through Tui Lolohea and Jermaine McGillvary to score.

Adam O'Brien was introduced shortly after, and injected some speed on his return as his dart from dummy-half set up the platform for our second try of the evening.

The latter would ignite a special moment however, as Jermaine McGillvary took a looping pass from Will Pryce to score in the corner, and add his 250^th try in his career, a special moment for the Club Legend.

Willie Peters men wouldn’t be swayed by this try, as former Giant Louis Senior crossed in the corner, and added the final blow to the Giants’ hopes of winning this game.

Sam Halsall crossed for his ninth try of the season, after taking an excellent pass from Tui Lolohea in the corner, as the Giants collected a short kick off, but a later penalty from Brad Schneider sealed the two points for Hull KR.
