The Huddersfield Giants Women’s Awards Night got underway last week, with 6 awards on offer.
Lois Naidole has flourished in her new role as a Centre, having played Lock and Second Row last season. Lois’ versatile efforts were recognised in the Best Back Player award.
Opposite number Katy Fisher was on the receiving end of the Best Forward Player title. Playing at either Lock or Second Row, Katy put pen to paper for the Giants at the start of this year.
Hannah Goddard joined the team halfway through their 2021 Shield Trophy winning run. The former Huddersfield Uni winger has gone from strength to strength since, earning the Most Improved player Award for this year.
Fullback Amy Bennett has been applauded for her Sportsmanship on and off the field in her debut season for the Claret and Gold.
Skipper Bethan Oates has been a dedicated servant of the Huddersfield Giants women’s team since the start of the senior team back in 2019. Noted for her passion to the game, it’s no surprise Oates has been crowned Players’ Player of the Year.
Amelia Brown was undoubtedly deserving of the Woman of Steel award, claiming 11 tries in the Women’s Super League alone featuring hat-tricks against Leeds and Warrington. She also grabbed 3 more tries in the Challenge Cup group stage against Oulton. Brown’s stellar run has been recognised by the BWSL, with a nomination for Young Player of the Year.
Congratulations to all of our award winners this year!
