AINSWORTH BECOMES FIRST EVER WOMENS PHYSIO

Huddersfield Giants are proud to announce Shannon Ainsworth as the first ever Giants Women Physiotherapist.

With the Women's Team coming under the club from December 1st, Shannon joins the club having experience in the role at Bradford Bulls, and now becomes full-time at the Giants, overseeing the Women's and Pathway sides.

Shannon Ainsworth discussed joining the Huddersfield Giants.

"Yeah I'm totally thrilled to be starting with Huddersfield Giants for the new season as the women's and pathway physiotherapist, 
I think it's such an exciting opportunity for myself and the teams involved, and it's really special being the first one in this new role. 

"It was a big step for me as I've had my foot in with Bradford Bulls for years so it's been a difficult decision to move on, but this was just something I absolutely couldn't pass up.

"Can't wait to get started with the club, lets hope for a good season."

Huddersfield Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis commented on the appointment.

“There will be a number of announcements coming in respect of our Women's team both on and off the field as we promised when we made the statement regarding bringing the team into the club from the Trust. 

"In Shannon we have our first ever full time dedicated Women's team physiotherapist to ensure that our players get the best possible treatment and medical service to enable them to perform to their optimum. 

"These are exciting times for the womens game and we are determined to position the Giants offering at the very top table for the players. 

"With the expansion of the Betfred 2024 Women's Super League we believe that there will be a dispersement of talent from the top teams as everyone strives to become more competitive and from our side it’s a case of watch this space for more announcements.”
