GIANTS APPONT 2024 BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE WOMENS COACH

Lori Halloran becomes the Giants first ever professional Women's Rugby League Head Coach by signing a two-year contract with the Huddersfield Giants.
Halloran is a former International who played in the 2013 World Cup and was last years coach while the side was run out of the clubs charitable trust – Huddersfield Giants Community Trust.
Lori discussed continuing in the role of Head Coach for the Huddersfield Giants Women's team.
“As a 9 year old playing for Batley Boys I could never envisage this, doing something I love in a professional capacity, The women’s game is now getting the attention it deserves. For too long we’ve been in the sidelines, well not anymore.
"Last season was tough for the Giants but it was just the beginning, I intend to coach how I played with a smile on my face, enjoying every minute.
"I will be drawing upon all my experiences to make Huddersfield a team that will not only compete at the top but create a winning culture, with a clear pathway for its young talent.
"I'd like to thank James Westerby and the Club for giving me this exciting opportunity. It's a huge step forward for Huddersfield Giants Women to have the backing of the club. We share the same vision in wanting the team to compete and succeed at the highest level”
James Westerby, Head of Women's Rugby commented on how this was the correct decision for the Giants Women's.
"The club have made it crystal clear that the Women's side has to professionalise and improve in every area and this is another great appointment for us and backs up my recommendation on who would be the best person for us.
"Lori made a great start last year in her first year as Head Coach and it was clear to see she has enormous respect within the Women's game and within our squad.
"She was the natural choice to continue and she fully appreciates the levels we need to get to as she herself has played at the very highest level.
"Her commitment and dedication to the team is unwavering and with our new facilities, dedicated full time medical support staff as well as our new signings the future looks very exciting indeed."
