Giants Women secure signing of half Sam Hulme

The Giants Women are pleased to announce the signing of halfback Sam Hulme for their 2024 Women’s Super League campaign.

Newcastle-born half Hulme has linked up with the Giants Women in pre-season training as the team are raring to make an impact in the revamped Women’s Super League.

Starting in the North East with Whitley Bay Barbarians, Hulme has gone on to represent a variety of teams across union and league such as Northumberland County (2013-18) and North of England (2015-16).

On top of that, Hulme made an impact for the 2019 England Rugby League Community Lions team who played Wales in a 24-20 win.

It’s easy to see why she’s been in high demand across codes by boasting such an impressive resume.

She first debuted in the women’s top tier in 2021 after graduating from Leeds Rhinos’ academy set-up, making both Challenge Cup and Super League Grand Finals.

The following year Hulme won the 2022 Women’s Super League with Leeds, with her most recent title coming from the 2023 Women’s 9s where she picked up a try to seal a 21-8 victory.

She also picked up a Cup hat trick against Leigh Leopards in this year’s Quarter Finals.

Playing mainly as a scrum-half, Hulme offers a handy kicking option with 24 goals from her last 12 WSL appearances.

We look forward to seeing Sam in claret and gold!
