Giants Women welcome Kacy Haley to 2024 squad

Huddersfield Giants Women are pleased to announce the signing of second-rower Kacy Haley from Warrington Wolves for the 2024 season.

Haley, originally from Bradford, has seen the Women’s Super League grow since its inception in 2017. She featured in the first Grand Final for Featherstone, also making the Cup final with the Rovers.

Haley turned out for local side Huddersfield St Joesphs’ in the 2017 Winter League, before moving to Championship outfit Stanningley in 2018 to win that year's league. 

She was picked up for Leeds Rhinos U19s team alongside Giants’ Frankie Townend and Paige Webster for her exploits in the second tier.

She moved to her native Bulls for the 2021 season, linking up with future Huddersfield teammates Stacey Greenwood, Jess Harrap, Millie Taylor and Grace Ramsden.

Speaking on her reunion with familiar faces, Haley said:

“I’ve played with Grace since I can remember. We both started at Huddersfield St Joes, so I’ve known her for about 6-7 years and I play quite well off her.

I can bounce off Millie Taylor too. I played with her at Bradford as well as Stacey Greenwood and Jess Harrap, so I’m looking forward to reconnecting with those bonds.” 

In 2022, Haley joined Ramsden in a move to the Warrington Wolves. Claiming the Women’s Super League Group 2 as League Leaders - with 12 wins from as many games - the pair were promoted following their Shield Final victory against Featherstone.

On signing for the Giants, Kacy commented:

“I’d looked around a few different clubs, but I liked what the Giants had to offer and was drawn to that.

I’ve been very encouraged by it, I like working at professional standards and it’s a good thing to have in a club and set them as well for the girls to uphold. 

I want to become better as a player and work on my own individual goals.”

She joins the club with 33 Super League appearances across 3 seasons at the top level.
