War of the Roses double header confirmed.
Huddersfield Giants are happy to announce that the John Smith's Stadium will host Men and Women's double header v Wigan Warriors on Saturday 11th May.
Huddersfield Giants are delighted to confirm that the John Smith's Stadium will once again play host to a Men's Super League and Women's Super League games, both between Huddersfield Giants and Wigan Warriors.
The double header has been confirmed for Saturday 11th May where the Women's match will kick off at 12:00 and the Men's game scheduled to kick off at 15:00.
This confirmation continues a recent tradition which has seen Rugby League double headers played at the John Smith's Stadium for the past two seasons. On both of those occasions the Giants faced off against local rivals Leeds Rhinos but this will be the first double header hosted where the Women's team runs under the wing of the club rather than the community trust, a transition made late last year.
Ahead of what looks to be an exciting 2024 season for both the men and women's teams at the Huddersfield Giants, the announcement of this 'War of the Roses' double header sets up what should be an electric weekend of Rugby League. With both matches taking place on Saturday afternoon more than ever fans have the opportunity to get the full matchday experience here at the John Smith's Stadium with what promises to be two fantastic games of Rugby League. Wigan Warriors the former Women's Super League champions and the Men's current champions have both been a part of fantastic matches against the Huddersfield Giants. Only last season did the women's teams play out a fantastic 50 point match which was only won in the final moments of the match by Wigan.
Ticket details for this game are yet to be announced for this event but the Saturday 11th May is definitely a date to get down in the diary.
This announcement is made ahead of the Women's 2024 full fixture release tonight.
