Flying winger Mollie Iceton moves up to First Team

Huddersfield Giants Women are proud to announce the promotion of Mollie Iceton from the Women's U19s team to Lori Halloran's First Team.

U19s graduate Mollie Iceton has been moved to Lori Halloran's senior team ahead of the Featherstone Rovers clash this Saturday.

On the England DiSE programme, Iceton has impressed with Stanningley age-groups as well as for the Giants U19s in her first season with the side. Having picked up 8 tries in her last 2 games, it's no surprise the 17-year-old winger has made the swift promotion.

Speaking about joining the senior side, Mollie said:

"When I first found out about my promotion to the senior team, I felt a big sense of accomplishment and excitement. I have a strong sense of belief and confidence in myself and my skills that I can perform at this level and will prove that with every chance I get.

"It gives me a sense of pride, and extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come my way.

"This has given me a real sense of pride in myself. I'm extremely grateful for the opportunities that have come my way so far in such a short time and look forward to what's to come for me.

"I'm looking forward to competing against the best players in the Women's Super League while continuing to develop and learn for my own game.

"My aims are to be the best rugby player that I can while adapting to new environments, learning from experienced coaches and players, becoming a starting player and score a few cheeky tries along the way."

Mollie will take #31 and is eligible to play against Featherstone at the Millenium Stadium (12pm) this Saturday.
