The Huddersfield Giants are proud to announce our support of local rugby league and Huddersfield University as shirt sponsors of the University teams tour shirt.
The Huddersfield Giants are proud to announce our support of local rugby league and Huddersfield University as shirt sponsors of the University team's tour shirt.
Huddersfield fits into a unique area of Rugby League and its great history, known as the "Birthplace of Rugby League." All those who play, from Barrow to Brisbane, can trace every pass of a ball to our fantastic town. We are proud of that history and recognise the need to support our great sport in the area. Every week, we allow local sides to parade the field during half time of games, and recently they have had the luxury of even playing on the John Smith's Stadium field. Additionally, first-team players participate in coaching sessions with the community trust and visit local teams, with school visits recently restarting for the first time since before the COVID pandemic.
To further our support for the growth of Rugby League in the Huddersfield area, we have now sponsored the tour shirt of the Huddersfield University Rugby League Team, known as "the Blue Ghosts."

This week, the Blue Ghosts set off for Norway, where they will play in a series of matches against local sides Lillestrøm and Haugesund in the group stage of the Alt-Heis Cup 9s Tournament held in Haugesund. Starting on the June 1st this is one of three local tournaments that take place in Norway each year.
Norway has been one of the hotbeds of growth in Rugby League, with a number of club sides emerging across the country since 2018. Once again, the Giants have our historic hands involved. Former Giants academy player Tim Jones is the head coach for the Norwegian U19s side and is also the coach for the Huddersfield University Rugby League team!
The Giants will be present front and centre as the University step out into the fjords of Norway, with our club's badge taking prime position on the chest of the kit, as well as sponsoring the lower back spot with the words "In Partnership with Huddersfield Giants."
We would like to wish the team the best success in the tournament and hope that their play, along with the involvement of the Giants, can inspire the next generation of Rugby League talent at home and abroad.
We will be following the progress of the team and updating fans as the tournament progresses.
