GIANTS EASE PAST HUNSLET TO BOOK PLACE IN ROUND 4

Huddersfield Giants defeated Hunslet RLFC 06-34 to book their place in Round 4 of the Betfred Challenge Cup.
Hunslet came firing out and took the lead early on, as a spilled kick from Matty Beherral was scooped up by debutant Greg Eden, the former Super League winger crossing in at the corner.
It didn't take Luke Robinson's men long to hit back however, as Harry Rushton was sent through a gap by Tui Lolohea, the Giants' number 13 crashing over, Kieran Rush adding the goal to level the scores.\
We then took the lead on the next set of six, as fast hands across the line led to Jacob Gagai putting Adam Swift in at the corner, as we took the lead for the first time.
Hunslet would stay gritty and within the contest until the break, as the hooter sounded and we returned to the sheds at 6-12.
A huge error just after half-time would gift Elliot Wallis with a walk in try to extend the Giants advantage, as Hunslet looked to play and stretch the Giants edge, Wallis picked off a pass and strolled in for his first try of the 2025 season.
In what was a largely dominant half, we started to show our Super League quality, as Lolohea was a man involved again, sending a grubber kick in-behind from around 35m out, which Jake Bibby won the race to collect and slide over.
Adam Swift quickly grabbed his second of the afternoon, Lolohea the architect once again, his looping ball over MacKenzie Turner saw the wingman walk in at the corner.
There was time for one more score before the end of the game, as George Flanagan, who came onto the pitch to replace Kieran Rush who went off with a shoulder injury, crashed Joe Greenwood onto a ball and he went flying over.
The Giants would run out 6-34 winners and safely book their place into the Fourth round of the Challenge Cup.
