GIANTS REVEAL FORGET ME NOT HOSPICE THIRD SHIRT

Huddersfield Giants are proud to reveal our 2025 Magic Weekend shirt to promote Forget Me Not Hospice.

Over the last 12 months, it has been no secret that the Forget Me Not Hospice needs vital funds to remain open and continue the fantastic work they do within, not just Huddersfield, but the wider West Yorkshire region.

During pre-season, the Giants players, led by Luke Robinson, embarked on a charity walk around the area to local sites including the hospice and the memorial of Ronan Costello. The club’s owner and Chairman, Ken Davy OBE, made the very kind gesture to donate 50% of Season Card sales during December to the hospice and to help them reach their target.

To date, the Giants have raised £13,772 for the cause that is close to not only the club, but the town of Huddersfield.

In presenting this shirt, the club are aiming to raise awareness of the Forget Me Not Hospice and their fundraising attempts. By showcasing the charity on a huge stage such as Magic Weekend, will provide that awareness and Gemma Redford from the Forget Me Not Hospice will be proud to see the Hospice colours donned by the Giants at St James’ Park and on Sky Sports.

“I’m a Rugby Fan! I hope the shirt brings the Giants good luck and they have a fantastic Magic Weekend! The exposure will be amazing for us. Getting the word out there that all Hospices are in need. The Giants helping us with this Magic Weekend shirt, couldn’t come at a better time.”

Gemma went on to highlight the importance of funding for places like the Forget Me Not Hospice.

“Hospice Care is still a postcode-lottery. There aren’t enough hospices. We’re so lucky to have this on our doorstep. We can’t take our foot off the gas with funding. Demand goes up every single year and we want to be there for every family should they need it.”

At the on-location photoshoot Giants players Kieran Rush, Jack Billington & George Flanagan planted an Apple tree in the gardens, something that took Gemma and the hospice on a trip down memory lane.

“When we first opened the club came then. A very young Luke Robinson came and planted some Apple trees in the garden! Eventually we’ll have an orchard that has been done by the Giants.”
