MARSHALL LANDS HIMSELF A PRO CONTRACT!

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce academy half-back Marshall Land has signed a professional contract.
Marshall, a half-back who has come through the pathway system at the Giants, has been rewarded for his determination and hard work with a two-year professional contract starting from December 1st.
Marshall discussed his contract and how he is looking forward to the future.
"I was over the moon really, when I first got the call, I'm extremely pleased that Andy Kelly and everyone else have the faith in me to offer a contract.
I'm looking forward to working with Adam Clune, Tui Lolohea players like that to see what I can learn from them, there's always areas to improve and I want to just stick at it really and see what the next few years has in store for me."

Steve Fox spoke about Marshall and how he will continue to develop in the great environment at the Giants.
"Marshall is the fourth one to sign a contract and all four bring something different to the team with separate qualities, I tracked him since he was 14 and wanted to get him here, I really could see something special in him and knew he would get to where he is now.
"We've two former top level half-backs coaching in Robbo and Finny, so the amount of knowledge that Marshall will gain from that, especially learning from the half-backs that are already at the club, it ensures that he will continue to develop."
Steve also went on to to highlight the pathway system in place at the Giants and thanks the community clubs for their input.
"It shows that there is a genuine pathway. We knew it wasn't going to happen overnight, we knew that it would take four to five years to get to where we want it to be. I'd like to think now, no matter what position you play in, it shows that there is a development plan and strategy in place to give young players the opportunity to flourish. It's a really exciting time."
"I've coached at Community level and I know the hard work that coaches put in, without them clubs, we wouldn't have a scholarship or academy system. A massive thank you to them for what they do for these young men to start their journey and long may it continue."
