MATCH REPORT | GIANTS EARN FIRST TWO POINTS

Huddersfield Giants continued their Magic Weekend streak with a 12-10 win over Hull FC at St James Park on Sunday afternoon.

Luke Robinson reshuffled his pack for the trip to Newcastle to face Hull FC at Magic Weekend, with the Giants looking to continue their impressive Magic record, topping the table for the most wins at the event.

We got off to the perfect start, with George Flanagan knocking over two points after Hull FC were caught offside, we then further extended our lead as Leroy Cudjoe scored his first ever Magic Weekend try.

He broke through the FC rearguard and stepped past former Giant Will Pryce to score and push the lead further in front, George Flanagan adding an easy two to put us 8-0 to the good.

John Cartwright's men hit back however, as a smart offload from John Asiata saw Herman Ese'ese cross and pull the scores back to just two.

Before the half was over, Hull FC were reduced to 11 after Sam Eseh was given a yellow card for a high tackle on Matty English, and on the resulting penalty set, Liam Knight was sent off for a direct shoulder to the head of Sam Hewitt.

We took advantage of the extra numbers in the second half, with returnee Adam Clune floating a ball out wide to Jacob Gagai who touched down in the corner.

FC came at us once again, and a miracle offload from Davy Litten saw Lewis Martin score in the corner, however Aidan Sezer missed the conversion.

That was all she wrote as we ran out 12-10 winners and picked up our first two points of the season.
