POWELL TO PACK THE PUNCH FOR THE GIANTS

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce the signing of Aussie Powerhouse Tristan Powell on a deal until the end of the 2027 season.

Powell, who has been a consistent performer for Burleigh Bears in the Hostplus Cup at prop and his highly rated within the game, will bolster the Giants pack, and can feature within the back row, at loose forward or at prop.

He was awarded Brisbane Tigers' player of the year two years running for his performances in the Queensland Cup, and also made his NRL debut in 2024.

The 6ft forward will look to add further punch and power to our pack, and is highly rated being only 24 years old, with three seasons of Rugby League already behind him, including time in the famed Melbourne Storm development scheme.

Tristan will be sponsored by Grosvenor Casino for the 2025 season.

Tristan Powell commented on being awarded the chance to play in Super League.

"I'm buzzing to have made the move, I'm really excited to show what I can do for the Giants and in the Super League, really thankful to Luke Robinson and the Giants for the opportunity.

"It's an exciting time for me, I'm looking forward to meeting the lads, unfortunately the game on Friday came a bit too soon for me but hopefully I'll be involved for the next one."

Luke Robinson also discussed the signing of Tristan.

"He's someone that I've admired for a while, we looked at him when I first became permanent head coach but we couldn't get it done at the time, but we kept him on our radar and it became available now for us to proceed with.

"We approached him and he wanted to come over, he's got a great work ethic and Ryan Hinchcliffe who works with him and he spoke about how he can add to our group, that he's still young and can improve.

"Tristan has some good ball playing in him too which can only enhance our attack, we're looking forward to seeing how he performs for us."
