Leroy Cudjoe | Q&A

Across social media, we asked for your questions to our 400 games man, Leroy Cudjoe! We've picked out the best ones, sent them on to Leroy, and here are his answers!
Matt Jamieson - Facebook - What's the one piece of advice the old Leroy would give to the young Leroy?
“The one Piece of advice id give my younger self would be to make the most of every moment and don’t waste opportunities as you never know when the next one will come.”
Paul Elstone - Facebook - In your time at the Giants, have you ever been close to signing for someone else?
"I’ve had interest from other Super League clubs in my career but nothing that came close, apart from an offer from Parramatta in the NRL. It just wasn’t the right time for me and my Family."
Nick McQueen - Facebook - Which is your favourite away ground to go to?
"Favourite away ground would be Leeds, always loved playing against Leeds at Leeds, the atmosphere is top class and we’ve had some great battles over the years."
Abbey Prior - Facebook - If you could play with anybody for one last time, who would you choose?
"I’d have to go with two players and have one last game with Jermaine and Bruno."
Richard Mann - Facebook - Was there a player who every time you came up against you seemed to have a massive rivalry with? Or a player who always tried to get under your skin?
"Not sure to be fair, one that springs to mind is Willie Tonga when he was at Catalans we use to square up a fair bit. I use to enjoy going up against the best centres to test myself"
Anthony Mann - Facebook - Do you have any goals to coach in the top tier of rugby in the future?
"My aim is to coach at the top level and that could be first team or pathways or both but that’s the goal for me."
James Greenwood - Facebook - Which musicians do you listen to as part of your pre-game build up?
"I don’t really listen to any music in my pre-game routine I’ll just listen to what’s on the speaker from one of the young lads. My pre game routine is based around mobility, Massage and activation work."
@das_big_cheese - Instagram - Which has been your favourite position to play?
"My two favourite positions I’ve enjoyed playing is Right centre and Loose forward. I believe that’s also where I’ve had the most joy as a player form wise."
@Liam_austwick - Instagram - Which game for the Giants stands out in your memory, good or bad?
"The one game that stands out is the 2022 cup final against Wigan, it’s very tough one to take as I thought we played well as a team and should have gone on to win, but that’s sport."
@Newsome_Panthers_Open_Age - Instagram - What do you think Super League Clubs can do to support local Amateur teams?
"I’m not sure if it’s on the Super League clubs or the RFL as a whole but we need to do better in helping with coach education within community clubs. Do coaching workshops to help support the coaches within the community game and upskill them so they can upskill players and create a fun enjoyable environment for young kids to develop. But it also needs buy in from the community clubs for it to be successful."
@harrymc67 - Instagram - What is your biggest tip to get to the top level of Rugby League?
"Biggest tip to get to the top is enjoy working hard, be coachable and listen to advise. I also believe if you stay in the game long enough you’ll reach a level you're happy with, not everyone is going to come through at 18 and have a long career stay focused on your pathway and enjoy the journey."
@Tomahawkmanuel - Instagram - Toughest player you’ve ever played against?
"Toughest player I played against would be Sonny Bill Williams, I learnt a lot from playing against him, he didn’t do anything special just did the basics very well consistently and kept coming all day."
Jim Cunliffe - Facebook - Which is the best try you’ve ever scored?
"Best try I like the most is one I didn’t score myself, I flicked it to Bruno around my back, not sure what I was thinking but it came off. I also enjoyed the interception against warrington in 2009."
