GIANTS MOVE QUICKLY TO SECURE LOAN SIGNING

After the injury to loanee Matt Frawley, the Giants needed to quickly fill the half back void with Tui Lolohea and Adam Clune both also out for the remainder of the season

The staff in charge of recruitment have not messed around and secured the loan signing of a familiar face, Olly Russell from Wakefield until the end of the season.

Between 2018 and 2024, before his departure to Wakefield, Russell made 104 appearances for the Giants, scoring 5 tries and kicking a whopping 203 goals.

On re-signing for the club on a short term basis, Olly said,

"I'm really excited to be back and seeing some familiar faces. It's what I need for me, to be finishing the season playing Rugby, so it's best for both clubs too."

Director of Rugby, Andy Kelly is pleased to have this deal done swiftly, and believes Russ can fit right back into Luke Robinson’s side.

“We’re pleased that Olly Russell has returned to the club and that the loan has been facilitated so quickly. I want to give credit to Ken Davy for supporting the move and allowing us to bring a quality player to strengthen the team with the intention of  finishing the season as positively as we possibly can.”
