Scholarship Awards Round Up

The Andrew Hook Memorial Coaches Player of the Year has never been won by a first year Scholar… until now!

First year Scholar, James Lee was presented with his award at the Giants First team game vs Leeds Rhinos. A magnificent achievement for this young man. 

Head Coach of the Scholarship side, Jonny Wainhouse explains the significance of Jimmy winning this award, and gives a bit of background into why he was chosen.

“What is interesting is that James Lee who has won this award is an U15’s player/1st year. It’s rare for this to happen, but this is also credit to this young man and his ability and overall attitude. He has been outstanding at times this year, his rugby IQ is ahead of his time. He is a humble individual, but his potential has been clear to see this season, and hopefully for many more to come.”
