AWARDS EVENING 2025 ROUND-UP

Read below for a round-up of the winners and shout-outs from tonight's awards evening.

At a packed Accu Stadium, we hosted the 2025 Huddersfield Giants awards evening sponsored by The FM Company, and plenty of Awards were handed out in which a write up has been complied for all supporters who couldn't attend and would like to read about our winners.

First up, we had a speech from Chairman Ken Davy OBE who confirmed that the Giants will continue to play at the Accu Stadium in 2026, however this will be our last at the stadium, as we explore other options.

We then recognised every player who picked up a heritage number for the Huddersfield Giants in 2025, thanking them for putting on the Claret and Gold (or blue - purple) jersey throughout the season.

The first award was the Wagstaff Trophy, this is awarded by the Huddersfield Giants Supporters Association and they take a vote from the supporters on who they would least like to see leave the club, and this was awarded to young star George Flanagan.

Next Up, was the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust player of the year, this award goes to the person who has been selected by the HGCT, for doing excellent work with the trust throughout the season. - This award went to Matty English, congratulations Matty.

It was also noted that 2026 will be Matty English's testimonial year, plenty of details for what we'll be doing to celebrate will be coming in the next few months.

We then moved onto the Supporters Player of the Year, sponsored by Abzorb, and this is the award voted by the supporters on social media and there was only ever going to be one winner for the one wasn't there.

George Flanagan scooped his second award of the evening, after what has been a truly astonishing season for such a young man, taking the Super League by storm and scoring 10+ tries and try assists.

Burhouse Shield was up next, this award is for someone within the club who consistently goes above and beyond for the club, in which case this year's winner is a shining example of that.

Jane Dyer is the Women's Team welfare manager, but consistently does other jobs and helps out the keep the women's team ticking over, and she is a true unsung hero that was tonight recognised at our annual awards evening, the women's team would simply not function without here, and we are truly grateful for all of her hardworking over the years since the women's team was first formed.

After the three-course meal was served, it was time to award the Outstanding achievement award and this is awarded by the Huddersfield Giants board on a votes based system, with three nominees being Leroy Cudjoe for his 400th career appearance, Lucas Cockshott and Adam Scotson for reaching 20 million social media engagements, and Graham Buckley for 25 years of Big G.

This award went to Leroy Cudjoe, a fitting winner for the outstanding achievement award, and this was sponsored by Gary Scott Groundworks.

With two awards remaining, the penultimate one was Coaches Player of the Year, and this may have shocked a few in the room, but not anyone on the coaching staff as they recognised the stunning performances he's put in during 2025, especially after moving himself to a completely new country.

Jacob Gagai took home the Coaches Player of the Year, awarded by Luke Robinson and Sponsored by Gary Scott Groundworks.

Maybe the most important award was left till last, but by no means not least, Jacob Gagai to his surprise also took home the Players Player of the Year award, the rapid winger crossing for double figures in tries in his debut Super League season.

This award is sponsored by Yorkshire Jewellers and we'd like to thank them for their continued support.

The Try of the Season was also decided at the end of the night, with Leroy Cudjoe taking home the winning award with that stunning effort in our win at Magic Weekend vs Hull FC, rounding Will Pryce to score underneath the posts.

We would like to thank our Web Providers Fluid for sponsoring this award.

We also took some time at the end of the awards to recognise the superb contributions to the club, including Graham Buckley, who was mentioned earlier, for his stunning 25 years of Big G, and also Leroy Cudjoe, who bows out from playing after 18 years of superb service to the club, and will move into a different role within the club, supporting transitioning players from the academy into the reserves and first team.

The Huddersfield Giants would like to thank The FM Company for their continued sponsorship of this club and tonight's awards evening, and to everyone else who has sponsored an award, and helped to make this evening a success, your support is valued greatly.
