More Giants on the International stage!

It’s a first international call up for young Connor Carr who has been selected for the Ireland Squad. He will be joined by two of his Giants teammates, as well as a number of former Giants in the full squad.

George King will captain the Irish as they prepare to face Wales in a two match series while Harry Rushton is in line to pull on the green and white shirt once again. 

The Ireland Captain will be joined by his brother Toby, with Aidan McGowan, Ronan Michael and Oliver Whitford completing the list of Claret & Gold connections for the Autumn Double Header.

Ireland take on Wales in Neath on Saturday 25th October in the opening game, and will take them on in a rematch a week later at the Millennium Stadium, Featherstone, on Saturday 1st November.

Connor Carr having received his first international call up said,

“I was on holiday when I got the call from the coach, I had an idea I’d be involved from previous conversations but to have it confirmed I couldn’t be happier. Both of my grandparents on my dad’s side are Irish, my Grandma is from Tipperary and my Grandad is from Dublin, so that makes me half Irish.”

“Having Harry Rushton and George King there will definitely help me transition into the squad a lot easier, having two great blokes there that already know everyone and the system will make me a lot more comfortable walking in.”

My family were extremely proud to hear about me representing Ireland on the international stage, especially my Dads side where my Irish heritage comes from, as well as myself. I will be so proud to tell my Grandparents about me representing their home country and to represent my heritage.”
