STEVE HARDISTY RETURNS TO THE GIANTS

Steve Hardisty has returned to the Huddersfield Giants in the role of Organisational Wellbeing Coach.

Steve’s previous time at the Club spanned over a decade, which saw him manage the clubs Wellbeing provision within the High-Performance programme.

With over fifteen years of experience within Professional Sport, Steve has built an excellent reputation as an industry leading practitioner within the Elite Sport Wellbeing space. His applied experience includes managing the wellbeing provision for both Athletes and High-Performance Staff part of England Academy, Men’s and Women’s representative programmes.

Steve rejoins the club after almost four years away, from his role of manager of curriculums and work programmes at Rugby League Cares. His role involved designing and implementing the Wellbeing strategy for the professional game.

Steve commented on his return I am thoroughly grateful for the opportunity to return back to the club and influence positive change by implementing a game leading strategy which is embedded at all levels of the organisation.

Wellbeing is a pre – requisite of performance of all kinds. When we are feeling good and functioning well as human beings, we have more capacity and range to flourish in all aspects of our lives. In the context of Athletes, this translates to them moving towards their potential and consistently being the very best versions of themselves on the field. Therefore, in this sense, whole person wellbeing can be a true enabler of consistent high performance.

Huddersfield Giants Director of Rugby Andy Kelly said “The club are excited to welcome Steve Hardisty back. Having worked for Rugby League Cares for the last four years, he returns to the Giants as Organisational Wellbeing Coach and I’m sure that everybody will benefit from his presence back at the club. We’re exited to see how the wellbeing and welfare provision for the club continues to evolve. We believe that in bringing Steve on board we can be one of the ground-breaking clubs with regards to welfare and the mental wellbeing of all of our staff and players.”
