GIANTS WELCOME P2P 2026 COHORT

The Huddersfield Giants would like to announce the talented group of 15's and 16's to lead of Pathway to Performance squad for the 2026 season, with thanks to Thor Industries for sponsoring their training kit.

P2P is a selective programme run by Womens Super League (WSL) Clubs. This is for female players in Years 10/11 as of academic year starting September 2025 (U15/U16 Season 2026) with each club allowed up to 12 players per age group. P2P builds on the current RFL Player Pathway and the good work of community and professional clubs. P2P runs in three blocks with the first commencing in September. The principle of the programme is to develop each player individually with a focus on skill, decision making and game understanding alongside all the other aspects of holistically developing players. The programme supports players whilst they continue to play for their respective community clubs. Players have joined from a variety of community clubs including – Drighlington, Dewsbury Moor, Hull KR, Knottingley Mustangs, Oulton Raidettes, Wetherby Bulldogs, Upton, Shaw Cross Sharks, Elland and Batley Girls.

James Westerby - Head of Women's Rugby commented on the programme.

“The player pathway is vital for us and for the development of girls/women’s rugby league. The P2P programme is the first part of our pathway structure leading to our u19’s and ultimately our women’s super league first team squad. The programme is an indication of the growth of the girls’ game and the hard work shown by community clubs in developing young female players. The talent coming through indicates an exciting future for the women’s game. Our programme is jointly managed and operated by the Giants and the Huddersfield Giants Community Trust”.
