ENGLISH DISCUSSES PRE-SEASON

We sat down with Testimonial man Matty English to discuss the pre-season schedule and how he's looking forward to the upcoming season.

Going into his testimonial year at the Huddersfield Giants, Matty English will be looking to have one of his best seasons yet in the Claret and Gold, and looking ahead of early 26, playing York in his testimonial, below is how Matty is feeling within the group and for the upcoming campaign.

"It's been a tough pre-season, we were one of the first teams back and we're into week five and it's been tough for us so far, the boys have taken it into their stride however with Gareth coming in, it's been different for us but we're enjoying it and for myself i feel like the group is gelling really well.

"Last pre-season i was coming back from an injury and i struggled to get over it in that pre-season, but for this one, I came back fully fit and ready to attack it, i feel like i've done that and it should help me prepare for the season ahead, especially with it being my testimonial year, I want it to be a good one.

"The support for myself has been really good, the lads all shared the post and the supporters have always been great to me here, i just want everyone to get down for the York game, not just for me but it'll be a good opportunity for us to start well and build for the season, York will be a tough opponent wanting to impress just coming up from the championship.

"Last season is behind us now, we have a fresh vision and we sat down with Ken, we have new goals and we're all working hard to achieve those, 2025 and the injuries are behind us now, we need all the supporters on board to help us achieve what we want to."
