Huddersfield Giants scholars delivered a classy attacking display to defeat Wakefield Trinity 56–24, running in ten tries in a dominant performance built on a lightning-fast start.

The tone was set almost immediately, with Noah White opening the scoring inside the opening few minutes. Breaking down the left edge and accelerating clear before cutting back under the posts and converting his own try for a 6–0 lead.

Huddersfield doubled their advantage on six minutes when Sam Haley crossed, again improved by White, before Tristen Hylton powered over from close range just three minutes later. White maintained his accuracy from the tee to make it 18–0 inside the opening ten minutes.

Wakefield responded in the 12th minute through Harvey Allen, who forced his way over from short range, and the successful conversion reduced the deficit to 18–6. However, the Giants quickly regained control. After being held up moments earlier, Hylton grabbed his second try on 19 minutes following a Wakefield error, although the conversion was missed.

The hosts closed the gap to 24–12, but that would be as close as they would get before the break.

What followed was a ruthless spell from our scholars. Alfie Moore struck in the 28th minute with a well-timed lead line, before White added his second try just two minutes later, converting both efforts. The Giants then produced a slick bit of play in the 34th minute, with Cupples-Tinker finishing off White’s clever grubber. White’s boot remained reliable as the Giants held a commanding 40–12 half-time lead.

Huddersfield carried that momentum into the second half, with Max Newitt darting over from dummy half in the 47th minute to extend the lead to 46–12.

Wakefield showed resilience to mount a brief fightback. Zac Painter stepped his way through for a try on 52 minutes, and Ollie Denton followed up with a close-range effort just after the hour mark. Both conversions were successful, reducing the scoreline to 46–24

However, the Giants put a halt to any chance of a comeback in the closing stages. Kyron Parchment showed great footwork to finish in the corner on 74 minutes, before Leo Laycock capped the performance with a clever show and go from dummy-half to go in under the posts in the 78th minute. White added the final conversion to complete an impressive personal haul.

In total, Huddersfield ran in ten tries, with White contributing two tries and eight goals in an influential display. Giants' early dominance proved far too much for Wakefield, sealing an emphatic and well-deserved 56–24 victory.
