PROMISING YOUNGSTER SIGNS NEW DEAL

Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce that Jacob Algar has signed a new three year contract with the club!

Jacob, sponsored by Purple Dog Ltd came through the Giants pathway system and has gone on to impress our coaching team, making two first team appearances 

Primarily a prop or back-rower, Algar has spent time on-loan at Dewsbury Rams this season, where he has developed and now been rewarded with an improved contract that will see him stay at the Giants for the next three seasons.

This retention marks our commitment to providing a pathway for Huddersfield Giants younger players who come through our system and then are rewarded with improved deals, like Jacob, with more to be announced throughout the season.

Algar commented on his new deal, and working hard to improve.

"I'm really excited to stay, i'm so happy the deal is signed and sorted now and i'm ready to work hard and improve myself over the next three years.

"When i've been watching myself back on the clips I can see how much i've improved here but there's still a lot of work to be done, thankful to Finny and Leroy and all the staff here for their work on improving my game and believing in me.

Andy Kelly, Director of Rugby also discussed retaining Jacob.

"This is another important piece of retention for the club, keeping our brightest young talents is crucial to our club going forward and we're delighted to have secured Jacob on an improved deal, which will see him develop further.

"Having already played first team, it shows the talent and hard working nature that he possess to keep improving and we're looking forward to how he progresses in the years to come.
