The Huddersfield Giants and Dewsbury Rams have undergone amicable and lengthy negotiations to arrive at an agreement that benefits both clubs. Both the Giants and the Rams intend to move forward collaboratively in their shared home but will remain as two completely independent clubs with their existing ownership and management structures. 

The Dewsbury Rams will continue to be based at the Flair Stadium and will train and play there, utilising all the vastly improved facilities at the Flair Stadium for their home matches.

The stadium will have dual branding and will be interchangeable when each club plays its home games to ensure both clubs and fans feel a sense of belonging. 

The Huddersfield Giants will be in Dewsbury from the 2027 season onwards until the identification and development of a suitable site within Huddersfield can be found. Despite extensive efforts, at this moment in time there is not a suitable location for the Huddersfield Giants within the Huddersfield boundary. However, the Huddersfield Giants remain committed to returning to the town in the future once a suitable site has been located. 

As of today no, the Flair Stadium is not up to Super League standards. However, the Giants’ planned investment and redevelopment plans mean it will be by 1st February 2027, with the exception of capacity. That will be rectified prior to the start of 2028 by the development of the ‘open end’ into a new stand to boost capacity.

Around 18 months ago, the Huddersfield Giants spent circa £30k on a total redevelopment of the Fartown site at the request of Kirklees Council. However, this did not pass the pre-planning application stage due to transport issues and, as a result, sadly is not a viable option. 

No, this move is not in preparation for a low IMG rating. However, upon completion of the redevelopment works and continued growth plans, the Huddersfield Giants expect its IMG rating to increase.  

The Huddersfield Giants will remain the Huddersfield Giants. We live in Huddersfield, our stage is Dewsbury. 

Yes, once the stadium has been redeveloped and refurbished, we will be opening it back up for weddings, birthdays, conferences and business events as before.  

There are currently seven hospitality boxes available at the Flair Stadium. Further hospitality opportunities will be available following the completion of the new stand development in August 2027 but, in the meantime, the club are also looking at temporary options. Yes, there will be a Huddersfield Giants shop at the Flair Stadium alongside a Dewsbury Rams club shop. 

The existing facilities at the Flair Stadium are being enhanced ahead of the 2027 season. The north and south stand bars are being fully refurbished, food and drink kiosks will be available, as well as significantly upgraded fan concourses, toilets and hospitality areas. 

Yes, there is ample parking available at the Flair Stadium. Pay-as-you-go options and season-long parking passes will be available, as well as being included with select season ticket bands.

The Flair Stadium facility currently has stands on three sides, limiting capacity to around 5,000 for the start of the 2027 campaign (around 1,200 of which will be seated). The Flair Stadium is currently undergoing a huge investment injection which will transform all areas of the stadium and increase overall capacity.

The Huddersfield Giants’ submitted plan is to develop the stadium to hold circa 8,000 people, inclusive of 2,500-3000 seats and the ability to increase the stadium to 12,000 capacity in future.

The first phase will begin as soon as the Dewsbury Rams’ season concludes and will include the enhancement of the stadium’s existing three sides to ensure a Super League experience from 1st February 2027.

Phase two, pending planning approval, will see the commencement of works on the ‘open end’ of the stadium, projected to be concluded by August 2027 season.

The Huddersfield Giants plan to invest £10m+ in the redevelopment of the Flair Stadium. This will include a full refurbishment of the existing facilities and of course a new stand at the west end of the site. The work to bring the stadium up to Super League compliance for the start of the 2027 season is intensive and includes increasing the size of the pitch, upgrading the floodlights, extra changing rooms and testing facilities, TV gantry and viewing platforms, media facilities, visiting club facilities and of course ensuring a safe stadium environment for the increased crowds. 

Season tickets are expected to be on sale by the end of September, pending confirmation of all seating, standing, hospitality and concession area configuration and approval. 

Taking into account the reduced capacity and the Huddersfield Giants’ current average attendance of just over 4,000, it is advised to secure your ticket as soon as possible to avoid potential disappointment. 

Yes, we want to do everything we can to help our supporters transition smoothly to the Flair Stadium so that we can pack out the stands. We are currently having conversations with local providers to determine what this looks like. Details will be available once confirmed.
